Range of Common Electric Vehicles vs Average Trip Distance Between Potential Charging Points

While it is true an ambulance has far greater electrical demands than an electric vehicle used for typical everyday duties, the greatest drain on the battery will still be the propulsion of the vehicle. Comparing these ranges with the average trip length at station 248, helps us to determine the feasibility of an e-ambulance trial for an area such as Vancouver's downtown core.

Note: The average trip length, is an average collected over several shifts by one paramedic using a trip logging app on a smart phone and odometer readings. While these numbers do offer valuable insight into the feasibility of an electric ambulance, a more thorough investigation should be completed to support these results.
